Formula
converted = (amount / fromRate) × toRate
All currencies are converted through a common base (USD). The amount is divided by the source currency rate to reach the base, then multiplied by the target currency rate.

Result: 1 meter = 3.28 feet

How is the exchange rate calculated?
Each currency has a rate relative to USD. To convert EUR to GBP, the amount is first converted to USD, then from USD to GBP using the respective rates.
